The Anger Sanger!

Does anyone know how to remove the Sanger factory rub rail. Sounds like I don't really want to cap it. It's not in that bad of shape, and I probably could straighten it out with it removed. think.gif

How is it attatched ? If it's just rivets you can drill the rivets out and remove it intact , then reinstall it with either screws or rivets after you paint the boat . You can also buy new rubrail fairly reasonably priced instead of tryin to straighten out the old one .

It's not held on by anything I can see. It is solid aluminum, and looks like it slides over some type of stud! think.gif

Not sure , never seen one like that . Stu redid the rubrails on Shortbus , he might know how the old one comes off . Post a pic if you can .

The rub rail on the CJ was riveted on.  Patch shoot a close up pic of the rub rail.  If its held on from behind it might slide off or could be you'll have to get inside the boat to unbolt it from the inside could be studs on the rail and nuts inside.  Shoot some pics and we can figure out a plan.

Yes, I haven't looked inside the boat to see what holds it on. I think it slides on somehow! :smile16:

It is most likely bolted on..
I'll check! It's real narrow! Like a 1/4 - 1/2 inch wide. :smile16:
It most likely has a threaded stud attached to it with a nut on the inside of the boat..
If that's the case, it'll be easy, accept the crawl my big azz into the bow part! :smile24:
