So does "No Roller Valve train" mean complete roller valve train (IE Cam and rockers) or does it mean no part of the valve train can be roller?  I have roller rockers and an 850 Holley but a hydraulic flat tappet cam.  Guess that would bump me out of "BASICALLY STOCK" and put me in "SUPER STOCK" where I have no chance of competing.  James' 850 and aluminum heads would do the same to him.  Hmm.  Maybe I need to round up some stock rockers and an 800 carb.  think.gif

I'm kinda like you, i'm all roller and a dominator. but I aint making the kind of mph to hang....I dont think anyways.

I might try it though, just to say I did, and hang out with my racer buddies.

The dominator will bump you at least to super stock

and I'm sure the Merlin on the block will bump me up to pro stock.

I know for a fact that the guy in the purple and yellow cheyanne runs 114 mph on the spray. And I'm way off that. But it would still be fun to get the tee shirt.

Is there a tech inspection or is it all done by the racers to keep each other honest?

No the Merlin block will not bump you past superstock on it's own (one of my gripes, running 598, 565, 557, 555s etc with production based 467).

The yellow and purple cheyenne runs super stock with me w/o nitrous. That's a big inch Ford that runs well.

No tech inspection, meeting among the class participants if they feel some ones cheating.

Maybe get Uncle Don to go. we could make him some kind of engine cover and put him in the stock class. A Taylor with a bimbo pad and a 600hp 496.

HAHAHA I thought you had seen my ride?? I bought it, I didnt build it. As far as I've been into it is taking the valve covers off. It needs some TLC like we were talking about. but its solid
I dont really know about the HP, I know what I was told, but dont trust it. Its fairly rowdy though

Hopefully this spring it will.  I had a best of 59.6 last year.  This winter it is getting headers, loader and the YJ is coming out to be replaced with an energized YJ with hydraulic diverter.  It had a little left last year but started cavitating at 59 MPH.  I won't be disappointed if it still only does 60 but I'm betting it does a little better with all those changes.
